Celebrating Patrick’s Time at WPUC

Thank you to everyone who planned, helped with and attended the celebration of Patrick’s ministry at Windsor Park United Church on April 30th!

Song for Patrick

When Patrick came to Windsor Park, a student then was he –
He came to learn and came to grow, a minister to be.
We taught him well and got a bus, his ordination to see.
When Sharon left, he was our own and we were filled with glee!

Patrick, Patrick, we will miss you!
Patrick, Patrick, we will miss you!
Patrick, Patrick, we will miss you!
And thanks for all you’ve done!

The youth in church were Patrick’s joy, for he loved having fun,
Corn mazes and car rally’s and “Times for everyone!”
Praise Bands made great music and Pride Parades were fun,
We’ve learned a lot from you!

The older folk in church got lots of Patrick’s guidance too,
Bible study and coffee time, there’s always lots to do.
Funerals, weddings and baptisms, hospital visits too,
He did his best to keep on top and holidays were few.

One day our Patrick went downstairs to look around, and yet,
He landed in the water and boy, did his socks get wet!
A flood of biblical size now had our basement a holy mess!
A whole remodel was required and added to the stress!

And then came the pandemic years, oh what were we to do?
Online services, zoom meetings, – everything was new!
With Patrick and the worship team, we found ways to worship anew,
Construction in the church, we’re back and now livestream, it’s true!

And now, dear Patrick, comes the time we have to say good-bye,
This congregation loves you – and here’s the reason why,
You’ve given freely of your heart – there’s little you won’t try.
We wish you well at your new church, even though we cry –
