Prayer of Approach and Confession
In this moment of mystery, in this moment of hope, in the moment of life, loving God-open our hearts to the wonder! Open our senses to the possibilities! Open the tombs that we’ve created, and show us that they are even empty of what we’ve come to expect, but full of the new possibilities. Hear us when we admit our failings: we war, we mock, we ignore, we pollute. Your people behave like no people, as if we had not been made in love and for love. We let your dream of peace and justice for all die from neglect. We confess our hurry to judge, our slowness to understand, our avoidance of the call of the Gospel. Forgive us, we pray, your people gathered here, and all humanity. Amen.
