Christmas Hamper Update
With support from the WPUC congregation, the Outreach Council will again be working with the Christmas Cheer Board to provide hampers to people in need. We will be packing and delivering 14 hampers that include food and other gifts for single pensioners and families in our community. We hope that you will participate in this project in any of a number of ways.
- You can make a financial donation to offset the cost of this project (which is estimated to be $1,000). Donations can be left at the office during work hours or included with your offering if you use the envelope system. Please note on the envelope the amount you are specifically designating to “Hampers”.
- You can volunteer to pack hampers. A small, safe crew of volunteers will be needed from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
- You can volunteer to deliver one (or more) hampers. Hampers will be delivered on Thursday, December 16th, Friday, December 17th, and Saturday, December 18th.
Should you wish to volunteer or if you have any questions about this project, please contact the church office at 204-256-8792 or Gwen Polak (gpolak@mymts.net). Thank-you in advance for any support that you can provide.
Also, during the month of December, our Mitten Tree will be on display in the sanctuary. We invite you to consider donating new or gently-used winter accessories for children and teens. Needed items include mittens, gloves, scarves, neck-warmers, socks and ear muffs. Please bring the items into the church during office hours or before/after Sunday worship. As these arrive, they will be placed on and under the tree as decoration. In early January, all donated items will be collected and delivered to Rossbrook House for distribution to children and youth who access that facility.
