NELLIE ADELENE CLAYTON (nee MITCHELL) Nellie, the only child of Herbert and Nellie (nee Robertson) Mitchell, died on Monday, June 27, 2005 at Poseidon Care Centre in Winnipeg, MB. Nellie was born on October 11, 1913 in North Battleford, SK and grew up on a farm in the area. Jack and Nellie moved to Ottawa in 1967 where they resided until retiring to Winnipeg in 1972. Although Nellie and Jack travelled extensively to many parts of the world, they most enjoyed their cottage at Pike Lake, near Saskatoon. Nellie's main interest was her music. She was a soprano soloist, sang in choirs and choral groups in Saskatoon and Ottawa, and lead choirs in Saskatoon and Winnipeg. In Winnipeg, Nellie volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at the Tache Nursing Home. Very special thanks to the staff of the Poseidon Care Centre where she lived for the past five years and to her special care companion Evangeline.
